Sophomore Packets

Sophomore packets are required for and sophomore high school students that desire to participate in the UVSC Distance Education/Concurrent Enrollment program. This course is designed for junior and senior students with the exception of some sophomore students. There will also be further review of these students. There is a minimal prerequisite of a 3.0 cumulative GPA has to be met and also shows exceptional student achievement in these curriculum area. This favorable GPA reflects that this student is hard working, is self-motivated, and is eager to receive good academic marks. These students must also be capable of understanding college-level material, producing quality assignments, and performing well on exams.

Furthermore, the students must also have very good attendance and in no way have exhibited any behavior problems in the classroom. Participation in the UVSC Distance Education Ednet college courses is a privilege for high school students, and they require a high level of responsibility and maturity. It is a policy with the UVSC Distance Education and Concurrent Enrollment departments that these courses are restricted to junior and senior students, with the exception of some sophomores.

Re-Evaluation Packets

Distance Education Ed Net College classes are challenging courses that require a high level of responsibility and academic achievement. The Distance Education Support Team strives to ensure success for in the Distance Education program. We would like to provide each student earning lower than a B- in any college course additional assistance as they continue in the program. Re-evaluation packets provide each student earning lower than a B- in any college course additional assistance as they continue in the program. Since UVSC applies an "Academic Warning" to a student's records when they receive a semester GPA of 2.0, re-evaluation packets provide assistance for students as a way to re-evaluate study strategies to improve performance and raise their GPA before penalties are applied.

This packet includes resources to help students evaluate his/her performance in the college classes as well as tips and techniques for student success. Please review these items with your high school counselor to devise a plan for raising the level of success in the UVSC Distance Education/Concurrent Enrollment courses.
