Proctor Policy

What does a proctor do?

Proctors are certified individuals who agree to supervise examinations for UVSC Distance Education. They have a responsibility to facilitate fairness and integrity during testing situations.

Students must first receive permission from an individual before designating him or her as their protor. The proctor must then complete a proctor certification form online. If the student is enrolled in a paper course, directions regarding this are included in the proctor information page that is included with the course materials. UVSC Distance Education will either email or call the proctor to notify him or her of their certification status.

Once a student has requested an exam and designated their proctor, the exam is sent to the proctor's designated mailing address. Please see our policies and procedures for further instructions on administering exams. Once the studnet has completed this exam, the proctor will mail back all exam materials, including exam questions.
